  • Is this the information that you're referring to? NST=238, Nph=238, Dmin=894 km, Rmss=1.01 sec, Gp= 36°,
    M-type=body wave magnitude (Mb), Version=7
  • The big question is 5.8 what? There's more than one earthquake magnitude scale and each is used for different reasons.
  • RSOE had it posted as 5.8 magnitude as well. There's a 3.5 mag is posted for Portugal - on the Northern mid atlantic ridge.
  • GEOFON is showing it as a 5.6 but doesn't say if that's Richter (ML), Mw, Mb, or Ms.

    Red Puma shows this:
    20Jul2010 17:19:50.5 29.1S 13.2W 20 MS=5.5 M*GSR SOUTHERN MID-ATLANTIC RIDG1922
