RIGHT NOW check the moon

I just noticed the moon rising in the North East.  It always rises in the East or just a LITTLE North East.  But Not this far North.  So check it out so we can have several witnesses to this odd moon rise.

Which part of Utah are you from Tammy B.?  A popular member that left this ning (he bugged out to his safe loc two months ago) also resides there.

i saw this too with my kiddoes last night-wayyyy north here in utah. usually a little noth eat, but agn like you said not nearly this north...couple hours later was right on track though-it was so orange an beautiful..but the positioning of its rise was way weird...

My house, also, is due E-W, at least when it was built.  So, the sun rises and sets due E and due W, but this has been off for awhile, also...

Acording to this chart the moon came up where it should have yesterday.  However, I still think that it was further north then I usualy see it rise.  I have lived here for 34 years and always see the moon rise from out my front door, faceing East.    And it did seem wrong last night. http://aa.usno.navy.mil/cgi-bin/aa_altazw.pl  It also has looked so much smaller then it should be for a week now.

The moon was farther north than it usually is in Idaho.

The moon did come through one of our NW windows. It was an awesome moon, yellowed through atmospheric conditions, as it has been for the last few nights. Perfect for a halloweeny month. I don't think the position was off, tho. Instead, I think it was just in one of its alternate positions of its orbit cycles.
