Surviving a Tornado is different than an earthquake

I have witnessed more than 300 tornados and was 'chased down the road..for a few miles..by one!" doug copp

The following is an excerpt from an email that I received today. I thought some people might be interested; since, we had a 'big one' in Missouri, today.

In our area tornadoes are a more prevalent threat than earthquakes.
Do you have safety procedures to follow for protection from tornadoes?

"Yes. Tornados are different because the forces applied to the structure are different. One principle remains the same. If you locate yourself in a triangle of life or survivable void you will live. If not then you will die.

Go in a corner of the house, put the sofa on a diagonal so a right angled triangle is formed between the walls and sofa.Get in this triangle....then cover the whole thing over (pull it over you) with a mattress and pray.

otherwise get out of town or hide underground in the OUTSIDE corner of a basement."

I have been thinking about a comment Cheryl made the other day. I have been busy but will soon put up the complete solution to surviving any type of disaster. The ultimate survival platform for earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, bombs, solar bursts and anything else nature can throw at it.

You may need to make one that combines earthquakes, floods and tornadoes for the Missouri area... combine the 'what ifs'. Can't run or hide from the combination of all three.
