Seems like we as humans have forgotten who we are, where we came from, how far we have come and how to treat each other with compassion, unconditional Love and respect.  So if we have forgotten these things, how can we ever have the Hope to obtain the vision of where we are headed?

Although I do have a Hope that the world Leaders would put aside their Politics and Act on the matter however,  it would take Real Men to do that and not Puppets on strings.

I believe we do have the capability to deflect an EL asteroid.  The problem as stated in the article, is that we can't get the world governments to decide to use this capability.  Lets face it.  The United States has too many enemies and if they knew that it would impact the United States, they would do everything possible to make sure we didn't get to it first.  Then once the smoke cleared, if anyone was still alive, they would have free reign of what was left of our country, most likely Cockroaches and any burrowing insects.  :-)

If people honestly believe that we do not have the ability to deflect an EL asteroid you are sadly mistake.  We are much more concerned with mid sized asteroids which are harder to detect but a large asteroid capable of cleaning the earth would be detected years before the fact and diverted, even in a direction of our choosing.  Don't misunderstand, we are not capable of redirecting an asteroid the size of say Texas but Rhode island is very doable. :)

I believe that nuking an asteroid would be the last resort because if it were to be a stony asteroid then it would rain down in pieces instead of one piece.  I believe that our world is in serious trouble and to get no one to agree on a solution just goes to show that we humans could never really be in charge of this Planet.
