3 Days of Darkness

As discussed on another blog, according to Velikovsky, the Chinese recorded ten days of darkness, American Indians recorded five.  It is not known if the darkness was caused by a rotation stoppage or a severe tilt or a combination, but consider that you might need more light (batteries, glow sticks, whatever) than you think.

  • Thanks for enlightening us, W&R.  That is interesting (and important) to know.  Now, I wonder which Velikovsky meant, or if he understood the distinction.  Plus, there is the further distinction of whether the days of darkness are from the severe tilt, affecting North America, or from being on the dark side of the planet during a rotation stoppage (if such animal exists). Then there is darkness (or dim light) following the passage from volcanic eruptions and tail debris in the air.  Bottom line...put a lot of light into your plans.

  • Great tips, John.  Thanks!
  • Regarding the Native American legends of 5 days of darkness. When I was a young man, elders at that time taught me to count days in different terms from a 24 hours day. A "day" to them could be a "light day" or "dark day". Each of them measured from twilight to twilight. Night was a "dark day" in otherwords.  I was initially confused during conversations in which they would mention a certain number of days, because the number would include a series of dark and light days in succession and cover a far shorter time, than I thought.

    Just an FYI

  • Love the idea John thanks a million.....
  • You turn the lights out, to activate.  Also glow in the dark TAPE, used on bikes and helments. Radio shack sells night vision googles, up to 50 feet for $35. great for young ones. They really work.  LED lights are good too.

  • It's not radioactive, is it?  It's probably the same stuff that are in those glow sticks.  You shake them to activate the light.
  • Glow in the dark PAINT, night vison, we own the night.
