    Puerto Rico Trench
    LAST MAJOR EARTHQUAKE
    1787
     MAGNITUDE 8.1

Why is this information important, because the last major adjustment of the trench was over 100 years ago.  Everyone is always talking about the high drama that can ensue if there is a volcanic landslide in the Canary Islands, yes terrifying in its own right but to me this situation is significantly more dire.  Why, well Puerto Rico sits roughly 100 miles south of the Puerto Rico Trench, where you can find The Milwaukee Depth, what is the Milwaukee Depth, well its the deepest and I mean deepest portion of the Atlantic ocean, just about 27,000 feet deep.

Back to why Puerto Rico is a much bigger danger to us than the Canary Islands. The island of Puerto Rico has a very interesting formation pattern in that it looks to be sitting on a pillar or for perspective on top of a pedestal.  This pedestal sits next to the Puerto Rico trench which is a seduction zone.  Should a large enough quake hit the area, my fear is that the entire island could potential fall sideways into the deepest trench in the world, and if you know anything about water displacement the size and scope of the Tsunami that would be created is biblical.  We are talking no more eastern coast, no Florida, no Gulf of Mexico, no Texas and possibly no Mexico.  Yes Puerto Rico is a tiny Island by comparison to most other islands out there but the nature of the beast speaks for itself.  Beware of a 9.0 in that area of the world.
