BIG EARTH SHAKING BOOM FELT IN MISSOURI 9/27/11

A loud, explosion-like sound that was heard across the majority of the county this morning has local officials scratching their heads.

The boom, which occurred at about 9:30 a.m., shook windows in several Lebanon area locations and was heard as far away as Conway, Falcon and Marshfield, but scanner traffic indicated that an officer in the Sleeper area heard nothing.

Laclede County Office of Emergency Management Director Jonathan Ayres told the Daily Record that his office, which is located across from the Laclede County Government Center on Adams Avenue, was shaken by the sound, but its exact cause may remain a mystery.

  • Alesiah, I haven't heard anymore about it yet.
  • Hi Pat, thanx for telling me.. Does anyone know yet what caused it yet?
  • Alesiah, I heard a big boom here in Arkansas about that same time.
  • The "booms" were predicted by GMS - I recall reading this years ago about what people will be experiencing physically and what will the earth be going thru.  I don't remember specifically what the cause was but it was a sound the earth would be making prior to the shift.

We have the Aberdeen "proving ground" a few miles away that has been very loud today - lots of booms!  Makes me wonder what they are testing and getting ready for.

  • I used to live in that area; at times I would hear sonic booms - they have military base about an hour west of Lebanon, and also another one a couple hours north, where the fancy new military planes are at - I've seen them flying... however, it isn't unusual for sonic booms to occur in that area, but they generally don't make the news...so if Lebanon thinks it is strange, it possibly is.....
  • Lebanon?

Here is the location and information:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebanon,_Missouri

  • James thats a good possibility they are being reported all over the world.
  • I am wondering if it is more along the lines of an asteroid hitting.  That is the first thing that I thought of.
  • This just might tie in with the military blowing up escape routes in the underground bunkers.
