Because  now  it has  become  the   responsibility......nay....the  duty  of   every  American  Citizen  to  reduce  the debt  incurred  by  those  fat  cats   who can't  get  enough  money to  satisfy  their appetites for  more .  It  is  now  our  burden  because  the   businesses  that  were  too  big  too fail already  paid  their  dues by  filling  the  pockets  of the  crooked  politicians that  gave  them the  bailouts  they  wanted.

All the institutions who MADE MONEY at the taxpayer's expense need to pay those profits to the government on behalf of the taxpayers.  Why should they get to keep the profits on money that was not theirs to begin with.
