  • Very difficult to not be affected by what is going on around the World. I pray that I never become desensitize.
I hope that I survive so to walk around with a first aid back pack praying for it to be always full.
  • Looks like they not only lost their possessions but possibly their children or love ones as well. These people do not have insurance policy. What is lost is gone, zilk.
  • The agony in there faces is overwhelming. Anyone with an once of empathy could not look at this picture without being brought to tears.
  • Music is definitely one of my outlets, Cheryl. Also, walking, running & exercising, meditation & prayer. When it gets to be too much...I try to detach myself from the emotions around me, I take a deep breath and pray a silent prayer..."Let go and let God". Weiynala, I too, cry..inside with them.
  • It is very hard to not be emotionally affected by it, Cindi. One way to prevent your own shock is to incrementally desensitize yourself to it. However, overload will burn a person out. We all must find ways to get away, do other things, pace ourselves the best we can to avoid overload and burnout. One of my coping strategies is music. Another is to visualize my area devastated and people wandering around, looking lost, imaginging what it will be like to lose everything. What are yours?
  • The misery has begun...so right Cheryl and we'll have to stay strong... I'm just not sure how use to this I can get.. so much pain & suffering..it's hard not to be emotionally affected by this.
