CMEs should hit Wed-Thurs

From spaceweather.com:

A series of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) en route to Earth from sunspot 1158 will buffet our planet's magnetic field during the next 24-48 hours. NOAA forecasters estimate a 45% chance of geomagnetic activity on Feb. 17th. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.

  • Good advice, Alex.
  • I set up a Faraday cage to protect my more valuable electronics and have stored a few items in the basement just in case, best way to know if you are out of the partical flow is to go somewhere where you have absolutely 0 bars on your cell phone..... if concerned about exposure that is.
  • Thanks for the update!  What do we do.. (I know, stupid question)... stay indoors?
