    Our power company offers it too.  It's called a level-pay plan.  It smooths out the spikes of heat in winter and a/c in the summer.

    For anyone having trouble meeting your electric bill, Social Services departments here in Virginia offers assistance once a year. So check out your local Social Services agency to see if they can help you.

    OK, start looking to the Amish to learn how to live..LOL

    You need to turn off your breakers and do trial runs anyway!!!.... Start preparing for the day of no electricity..

    See what you need to live comfortable without "utilites"..SERIOUSLY

    You need to do this to prepare for the future... Simply start asap.. I've been doing this for awhile now..but didn't do it for the holiday seasons and you can see where it got me...$504.00 later..

    It's almost as large as a house payment Pat.. We are getting off the electric grid...every which way we can..

    Wow....People something is going on here. We have a natural gas outside furnace it only comes on if the fire dies down and then about 30 dollars a month. Electric bill runs about 75 a month during winter.  I just thought mine was high until I saw everyone else posted bills. I couldn't pay a 500 dollar bill myself. Outrageous.

    I had heard rates were going up, but this is insane.  I just don't know how people are making ends meet any more.

    I'm purchasing a wood cook stove which heats the house while cooking. I'm hanging out clothes..Have all appliances un-plugged if not in use.. Have gone to wind-up clocks..and unplugged all electric clocks in the house..and still working on changing things out..

    Our utlity bill was over $500 for last month..and that was with us cutting and burning wood...Crazy!!!!
