We have birds (and bugs) - all types, still. I find myself talking to them regularly. A cardinal somehow got trapped in our rear door enclosure, and couldn't find its way out. I take it as a good sign.

We had a huge hawk this year. We usually have the smaller ones, but this one was huge. So beautiful.

I still don't buy into the Elenin (as COMET Elenin) threat. Probably never will. But that's just a name. I think there's too much hype being directed toward it, too --- too many trying to make something out of the wrong thing, in other words. (MO)

thanks for the vid msred..I also have been in the skeptic camp about Elenin...until now. Be safe Everyone! I hope it is just another average week.

I am not too far south of Kim and birds, bugs, normal. I hope it doesn't have anything to do with Fukishima and just hasn't made it to MD yet

We still have birds here (thankfully).  One almost flew into the front of my vehicle as I was driving the other day.  I see cardinals, finches, hummingbirds, etc.  Only ones I have not seen this year are blue birds.

Duane your right about the lost feeling, of where to go. All the solar flares and eq's have not had the same effect as the missing birds has to me. Maybe where they went is the safe place. I sit on the porch with anxious eyes to just see one bird or hear a friendly chirp. Its like a syfy movie where the darkness is coming and they knew.

Duane no one on this site is aware of what is going on with the earth as you are. I will not miss limp wristed Larry either. In two weeks I get the pleasure of meeting Joe Kurtz he is stopping by on his trip to colorado, I only wish I could meet everyone of the many friends that have gathered here to help each other. The solar activity has changed my mind also about Elenin being a threat. As you know I watch your weather posts and appreciate being able to look at our world is doing everyday, thanks brother. PS  I still have no birds.
