As you can see from the map above, which shows cities in black, nearly every major metropolitan area in the heart (and east coast) of the country is under a severe thunderstorm threat today. I tabulated the major metropolitan centers only, and came up with a number of 70 million city folks who are in the Slight Risk area, with 11.5 million in the Moderate or High Risk areas (where tornadoes are most likely to occur).

  • LOL....
  • OMG!  The country would collapse!  ;-)
  • Look at the graphic in the OP ---- wouldn't it be strange if Walmart Corporate headquarters in Bentonville, AR (right at the East tip of HIGH, or there about), along with a string of Walmart centers, was taken out?
  • We're under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. tonight.  We've already had two thunderstorms today, a big one last night, and a really big one two nights ago.

The sun's position has really changed.  I was driving a road I haven't driven in a while and the sun was setting way to the right.  Normally at that time of day it was dead center of the road.

As I was driving south on a main road, the sun was setting in my rear view mirror, dead north.
