  • Thanks for clarifying Cheryl it is appreciated.  And I hope it does warn presidents of what their limitations are....

  • http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c112:H.CON.RES.107:

H.Con Res 107 was submitted on March 7, 2012 and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

It is not a bill of impeachment.  It does not say it is retroactive.  I still read this as a warning for any future military action taken without Congress's approval.  The activistpost article is misleading.

  • There is no impeachment pending, it has not be put forth before congress.  There is no bill stating that what has transpired is even impeachable or a misdeamenor.....and if I am not mistake these liberties that Obama has taken in regards to conflicts was voted in by a republican congress for a republican president....something doesn't smell right here....sorry but once again I find myself saying....wait and see.....am just so amazed at how easily people are to jump on the lynching bandwagon....history is a funny thing seeing as how its currently painted by whosoever feels the whim....

  • Congress should step in.

  • I found this article:  http://www.activistpost.com/2012/03/will-sitting-president-finally-... and it sounds like there is an impeachment action pending.  I'm confused if they are going back to the military action in Libya for that and are warning against using the military force in Syria.  Or?

  • The headline "Obama Impeachment Bill Now In Congress" isn't totally accurate, they didn't file an impeachment, they introduced a resolution expressing their intent to impeach the perps IF military force is used without an act of Congress.

"Rep. Walter B. Jones Jr., R-N.C., has introduced a resolution declaring that should the president use offensive military force without authorization of an act of Congress, “it is the sense of Congress” that such an act would be “an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor.”

Considering this:  “This week it was Secretary of Defense Panetta’s declaration before the Senate Armed Services Committee that he and President Obama look not to the Congress for authorization to bomb Syria but to NATO and the United Nations...." I think the resolution is called for.  Congress is (finally) drawing the line about using military force without their permission.
