Just came across the ticker... 80mph landfall... so not so bad... comparatively... Thank the Good God... we are grateful for all blessings..
I love rice and peas. .. what is your recipe..? thanks. I got a soup going in my slow cooker today... Oh, my grandma lived on a farm... :)
I cooked a pork tenderloin and Hoppin John (cow peas with rice). Figured that if the power goes out then we at least can eat something besides chips or crackers. lol
I will be careful but as I look out my door we aren't getting much right now at 541pm my time. Wind is picking up and we are getting some good gust. Not much rain quite yet but they are saying the worse is yet to come.
Be careful, Tammy... even looks bad up in Hatteras. Make sure you have enough water.. My power went off yesterday, tree and pole down across the street from me... and guess what.. I could not find the matches... must have packed them up in my emergency bag which I couldn't find... so will buy more matches.. and also nice to have some cooked food, just in case... with no power, you do not feel like cooking.
It is about 2:30pm here in Biloxi. We are starting to get what I call spraying rain off and on and some wind gusts. We are awaiting the for Isaac to come in. I am about 5-6 miles from the beach so my effects are not as bad as the beach side.
I have seen circular rainbows around the sun. They are cool.
Scientists have said that rainbows are actually a cone originating from a light source and water droplets form the rainbow. What we see is an arch but in reality it is a cone. Fascinating that I have never heard that until now.

It was a complete circle. And the second one (the outer one) was as well. Never have I seen a circular rainbow! I agree HAARP could be the culprit....but then again, I am thinking something else totally out of the box.
It's an inverted rainbow (if it was just a half circle). The boys in Alaska playing with HAARP?
There have been weird things with this storm!! Here is a pic taken of the sun earlier today. We saw the sun, behind it was black, then a ROUND rainbow ring around that, mist, then another rainbow ring!!! Any ideas guys? This is not as detailed as we saw it.
