I think that  is  what  is happening  .  This is   their  last  attempt  to  do  things peacefully.  I  mean  look  at  what  happen  to  Occupy?  They  were  peaceful and  look  how they  were  treated.  Protest  is  no longer  an  option.  This   is  I  think  the only  recourse  left.

Yep.  It may be testing the waters.  If the gov't fails to do anything, it could be the legal, last resort has been exhausted.

Will it  change anything?  Perhaps  not.  We  know that  the  government  is not listening to anyone  but  themselves and those who have  purchased  their  ear.  Will this  lead  to  something  bigger  if  they  don"t acknowledge it?  There is a  very  distinct  possibility that  these people  have reached their limit.  Either  way  we  will see what  happens.

Keep watching.  Interesting, since Vermont has talked secession a number of times before it became popular.

It's a powerful message, yes.  But will it effect change?  It's like the saying "you have the right to say what you want; I have the right to not listen."

I  truly  do not  believe that  the  majority  of these people  want to secede  but they  are  tired of not being  heard.  They are  tired of  Congress thumbing  their  nose  at their  grievances. I think this  is the  only  way they  feel that  anyone  in the  Government  will  actually  listen.  Here  we have  now  49  of the  50  states  with  petitions to secede.  Vermont  being the only  hold  out and that  may  change soon.  I think that  is  a  pretty  powerful message  don't you ?

Alright, there have  been  quite a  bit of  reports   on the  States  filing  for  secession.  The  last  known  reports  have  read   47  States last  count.  I wanted  to make  sure the  numbers  were  right  so  I  have  gone to the  Whitehouse.gov  site  to see the petitions for myself  and   this is  what  I  found    petitions.whitehouse.gov

 

Please  take into account  that the numbers  are changing  at  an incredible  rate  and I   have to  tally  these  by  hand.  I  will try to  keep this  as  up to  date  as possible.

Connecticut, Maryland , Hawaii and Massachusetts  have  been  added to the  list
