Major flooding in Pennsylvania and New York

Those poor people!!  My prayers are with them!  I am so thankful it has not been raining that badly in my immediate area, but in other counties near me they are shutting down schools and businesses left and right.  Even Hershey foods shut down their plant, never in my lifetime do I remember a business like that shutting down!   And it is not over as this stupid storm system is stalled.  (I sure wish I could send some of this stupid rain to Texas).  Rain, rain, go away!  (pictures link below)

  • I have heard similar stories PBD.  Here in PA in the hardest hit areas the authorities are telling people to stay OFF the roads unless it is an emergency.
  • Be safe kids....

  • This morning my brother rescued a baby trapped in a car on his way back from work (his work was cancelled due to the flooding).  What happened was my brother spotted a lady trying to cross a flooded road in her car and when she did it pushed her car off the road into an embankment.  As he was turning his car around he heard someone screaming "my baby" and saw she was out of her car in waist deep water (it was rising fast).  So he gets out of his car, wades into the water and gets her baby out.  WHY do people do stupid stuff as to drive a vehicle into flood waters especially after several people have already lost their lives doing the same thing??

  • I bet they are!!  BTW they shut down some schools about 7 miles from me in PA here (no major flooding here yet).  Guess they are expecting it to.
  • Kim  My kids in Bangor are getting quite soggy.
