  • The NK people should be at least given a choice. Unfortunately China likes the buffer zone NK creates in it's current form more than it honors (if at all) human rights!

  • Yes, they should be charged and the regime definitely needs to be taken down.

  • They are starving, brainwashed masses of humanity.  It's time for a "North Korea Spring."

  • I could not agree more.

In this day and age - it's pathetic!

I feel so sorry for the general NK population - they have obviously been fed BS for years!

  • Bad behavior shouldn't be rewarded.

Also, loss of face with his troops.  They sacrifice so the country can position itself to become another welfare recipient of the US?  Sheesh.

  • As reported in your latest blog maybe Kim is posturing to gain a better bargaining position for foreign aid concessions.

Maybe this is his end game for this event - however I doubt concessions will be given without any further NK nuclear wind down guarantees.

    We shall see.

  • Sounds like a coup was already attempted, or it was on the brink, which may be his reason for his fire and brimstone campaign.

But even if he has no real intent to start a nuclear war, now that he's made such a show, some other agenda might take advantage of the situation.

  • L'il Kim has certainly backed himself into a corner - it will be interesting to see how this resolves.

I'm not sure I can see how he can win - or save face:

    1) He cannot possibly win a war with any external country, and

    2) If he does nothing - he loses face within his own ranks - and I'm not sure that just a missile test will satisfy his military commanders.

There is nothing worse than dealing with someone who is backed into a corner and desperate!

    Maybe a military coup coming?

  • Yes, it does.  One article says the US is going to try to defuse it, while at the same time sending a floating HAARP platform and drones to NK.  One wonders how L'il Kim thinks he's going to survive this.  One nuclear incident and the entire world is going to be trying to shut him down.

  • I'm not particularly worried, either.  I don't think it will happen.  It sounds like it's an internal posturing.  But yet, how can he make such specific statements and not follow through?  It seems like that would be worse than not doing anything.
