Noahic Rains vs. Firestorms

Jim McCanney mentions in his Planet X, Comets & Earthchanges book that he expects tremendous rains to come in the last 4-to-6 months before the passage.  It just occurred to me today that, if that's the case, wouldn't that create an environment that would not be conducive to firestorms, in other words, the water would put the fires out?  He says there will be lots of hydrocarbons mixed in with the water.  Could those create fires that would burn despite the water?  Ideas anyone?

I don't know if CME can be a source of firstorm may be if its big enough it can. CME or not I envision that the tail of the Elenin or PX red dust debris that sweep through the Earth will be much bigger in size than the every day earthbound meteors that at least great amount of them will withstand the burnt up effect of the objects entering the upper atmosphere and make it to ground. These debris/fireballs will be at a speed much much faster than the rain could drop rendering the rain water little effect on the fireballs. If there are hydrocarbons in the rain clounds this will even help keeping the fireballs ignite rather than extinguishing. Just my thoughts.

 

And here's another one of my immagination. As these foreign object burns they give out ashes. The ashes got mixed with the rain causing the rain to turn black, hence, you have a biblical term "black rain".

Ummmm,  ok  this  may  be  just in my  simple  mind.  However,  does  petrol not  burn  on  and  in  water?  If the  source  is  volatile  enough and in large  enough  quantities  would it  not ignite and  continue to  burn  until the  source is  depleted?  As has  been  done on  occasion in hopes of minimizing  the  offshore  drilling spills.

Again I am  no  expert, nor  do I  claim to be ,  just offering  an observation.  Clarification  would  also  be  very  much  appreciated for my  own  edification  :)
