  • Most electric plants are fired by natural gas .  A large EQ can easily burst those lines. In fact the heaving ground in this cold weather can also do that.  I live less then half a mile from a feeder gas line that was put in around ten years ago.  They are large three foot pipes.  If they ever ruptured and caught fire they could cause quite a blast.  I hope that never happens!   So far I have NEVER heard of a gas feeder line braking!

  • The infrastructure in this country has little concern given to it by DC. If you just studied the water pipe situation you would be amazed at how many cities would be shut down with a sizable earthquake. The bridge situation is almost too big to tackle. Did someone know all these things won't matter anyway because of what is coming ?The recent post about the gas line leaks in DC  is another example. squeezing the last penny out of a dying nuclear plant is reckless endangerment.

  • Seems most infrastructure across the globe is neglected. Over here in SA we suffer the same fate. The elites just don't care. They are still making a buck and the have their safe havens when all goes kaboom. There is a nuclear plant not too far from where I live. It is a grave concern should something happen there because we barely have the skills left in the country to fix things when they go wrong, so all is wiped under the carpet and surprise and awe expressed when it comes back to bite them.
  • There has to be a lot more out there in serious condition. We are one EMP away from disaster.

  • If you run a furnace with ware or a hairline crack the furnace man will not let you run it saying it is the law that he has to shut it down.  So what is wrong with the power plant?  Maybe they should let furnace men inspect it!
