People used to say to me but its a dry heat and my answer was, so is a fire place. 115 was tolerable but anything over that is not.
That's disgusting. I was in Vegas when it was 116*. That kind of heat just wipes you out. Back in the day (early 70s) the San Fernando Valley (L.A. suburb) used to hit 110*, but back when it was dry heat, it was livable.
I lived in a town about half way between Phoenix and Los Vegas when they reached 115 we were usually close to 130 and it never got reported because the temperature readings were under the control of the ten casinos in Laughlin NV because who in their right mind would go to a town when the temperature was 120 degrees. If you reported it they would black ball you from any advertising revenue. I used to laugh at the national high temperature was reported being 116 when it was 134 where I was.
