Perhaps the fleets of the star nations are gathered by the bedside of a once cherished experiment. Intervention may never have been an option, even if merciful. The Earth was once glorious, and still is as this wave of life passes. I can only wonder if these angels are weeping.

If they nuke the power plant the radiation will last for a few years.  If they do nothing the entire planet and all life on it will die.  Maybe this is why so many underground connected cities are being built for the Ellette and the military.
