Items to take to protect oneself from radiation.  Any one of these products will do:

Zeolite - 1 drop per day

Homeopathic Radialgen 1 drop in a gallon of water.  For animals, one drop in their water bowls or buckets.  A 2 ounce bottle of this stuff will go a very long way.

Essential Guardian (do not have the dosage on this yet)

Also taking 25 mg of zinc daily will help protect (15mg to 20 mg for kids).

Get two 55gal containers fill both leave alone for two days do not shake just draw the water, lead and radioactive material is closely related, there heavy will fall. If it was like Asbestos we would be in a world of hurt, the whole world would be radioactive.

I would still filter first then distill after letting it settle in a 55gal drum! If you do not have filters then put plastic over a good amount of grass, weeds, sand, and charcoal, use them for your filtering medium!

I read it should be okay if you have a well.  City water should be okay because the radioactive sediment sinks to the bottom.  Just in case, you could fill up 55 gallon drums full of water, at least to ride out the initial emergency.

Ok think it's better than filtering with sand filled shirt sleeve, what is the situation going to be where you will be!
If you are at your safe loc. there is a reactor west of you then what to do! better to filter before distilling and after distilling. do you want to run your water across lead to help neutralize it then distill to remove lead? Possibly it may work don't know. will need to test, i don't have heavy water to test, or a Geiger counter to see if it did the job!

You will be walking under plastic sheets, you may want to setup walkways w/sheeting above, if your garden is inside with lighting and electric windmill generation, then the food will be better than outside in that situation.

I say that if you in a mostly STO group then the protection from these trbls will be there with or with out your knowledge. So start eating seaweed today for the protection we all will need.

Which one covers water? Distilling will not be sufficient after distilling run the water thur a Brita water pitcher. A simple Brita water filter might also help if it has been designed to remove lead cadmium and chlorine then it will likely remove the radioactive isotopes these isotopes act the same as their normal every day counter parts that are non radioactive but pose an extra danger from the radiation so consider the filter to be toxic and berry it in a sealed can until it can be hauled away
