Mr. David Miles, a traveling lecturer for a Washington-based aviation industrial firm, has had a series " out-of-body" experiences: while driving in the San Francisco area, he suddenly found himself no longer in the car, but floating a great height above the Californian coast. Suddenly, he saw the whole of Los Angeles, San Diego and Santa Barbara disappear beneath and advancing wall of water, as builing collapsed and freeways swayed and buckled. When the commotion died down, all Miles could see was a vast expanse of water....
The image of a cliff's edge aslo figures prominently in a vision of Reverend C.F. Harrell of Phoenix, Arizona. He suddenly found himself " transport in the spirit" to a high cliff, and looking down he could see great numbers of people floating about in angry waters strewn with the wreckage of buildings, ships, cars and pavement. .....the wave completely sweeping away San Bernadino...A voice told Reverend Harrell that the great quake will be preceded by three small quakes, as warning signs. The first will shake the entire coast from Mexico to north of San Francisco, and one will see some streets and freeways buckle. Just as this destruction will be cleared away and rebuilt, the second quake will strike;...and then the third shock will happen. After that, the superquake is not far off. The Reverend, in a continuation of his vision, stood on a mountain above Los Angeles, and covered his ears from the roar of the hurricane and tornado winds accompanying the earth movement and tidal wave. In a minute, he saw, ten million will lose their lives. The shock and wave will cause the geologic understructuresupports along the coast to give way, and all of California west of the San Andrea will slowly tip toward the ocean, then break off, leaving only a cliff eall behind.
Egon Schuetz, of Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada, has had several premonitions about California. First, he says there is going to be an earth upheaval that will shake the area up to 300 miles in radius from the west coast, centering between Eureka and Los Angeles. Then --due to inherent weakness and instability of the
Californian rock strata--movement of a great fracture 37 miles deep will cause the shore all the way inland to the coastal mountains to fall away into the ocean. Cracks wil also break up the san Joaquin Valley floor, and it too will be completely flooded.
