Keith, you mentioned that Elenin is only 3 - 12 km in diamenter. Come to think of it, how can it cause any harm to Earth? At that size we probably won't even see it! However, the Chile and Japan big ones did happened when this little Elenin aligned and now Saturn. This is sooo...puzzling. Is there something bigger following directly behind Elenin and is the cause of all this?

And now there's another puzzling, back in 1984 and Marshall Masters said something was detected coming from the south, which which a completely different angle to where Elenin is coming from. Boy oh boy keep a wide open mind you must.

Yes Keith, Saturn has been in superstorm for six month and during this period it has been thereabout between the Sun and Elenin. How you say each planet from outer to inner are changing one after the other is interesting.

We are all skeptics at some point. When reading a science media report, in this case a planetary report, are they just sharing their story and the fasinating pictureques of explanable events, or are they trying to say something? This is a "heard of" event with an unheard of magnitude, seasonality and duration. 

 

Just like the star viewer team from which Marshall Master draw his source about seeing PX with naked eyes in May 2011. After waiting for nearly 2 years that time has come and gone and I still don't see it. May be his calculation is a bit wrong, may be people at the South pole already seen it I don't know. Being a sceptic or at least have some reservation mute my disappointment somewhat.

 

Coming up in September to November this year. I look upon it as THE MOMENT OF TRUTH or THE MOMENT OF HYPE re Commet ELENIN. Only this time I don't need to wait 2 years but only 2 months. Will SydneyStarGazers grin and say "I told you so, Elenin is just another commet" or their astronomical life will never be the same again?

@Keith, I think you're on to something.  @Alex...like Cheryl said facts are facts.  Who can say what may have caused these planetary storms?  There are a multitude of possibilities: PX, Elenin, Nibiru, the dark twin, and I heard say that Vesta is a major contributor.  Any one of the above could cause this.  An open mind to ALL possibilities is the way to go for me.  There is also a theory about Jupiter and Saturn playing havoc on the Sun.  I don't consider it debunking, I consider it using your mind.

It's time to pause and catch our breath.  Other than the "good doctor," do we know of any other source talking about a BDS following Elenin?

I think debunking ourselves at time is good housekeeping.  :-)

I have yet to be sold on the idea of Nibiru being in Elenin's wake.....guess that partially contributes to my playing devil's advocate of late..... but time will tell.

Why feel like a debunker, Alex?  Facts are facts.  Necessary for complete investigations.  I noted that the season was wrong for this storm, another article said it was a very rare storm, and that Elenin/companion was in the neighborhood.  So...throw those facts into the stew and see what comes of it.

By the way Saturn tilts in such a way every few years taht we lose sight of the rings...so saturn tilting is also known and fairly common.

It looks like the connection is there. Checking on the JPL Elenin did begins to come between Saturn and the Sun back in Last December and was in alignment around 10th July this month and still somewhat in between right into early August.
