A new report by the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) circulating in the Kremlin today on this past weeks violent shaking of the Norwegian Sea floor after it was hit by a powerful 6.2 magnitude earthquake at the shallow depth of 8.8 km (5.5 miles) states that this event also caused an “unexpected and rapid” shifting of the magnetic North Pole by nearly 1,000 km (621 miles) these scientists claim can only be attributed to as an yet unidentified planet in our solar system recently confirmed to exist by one of the world’s top astronomers from the National Observatory of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
Unknown to most people, and as reported by London’s Independent newspaper, the magnetic north pole is moving faster than at any time in human history, threatening everything from the safety of modern transport systems to the traditional navigation routes of migrating animals.
Scientists say that magnetic north, which for two centuries has been in the icy wilderness of Canada, is currently relocating towards Russia at a rate of about 40 miles a year. The speed of its movement has increased by a third in the past decade, prompting speculation that the field could be about to “flip”, causing compasses to invert and point south rather than north, something that happens between three and seven times every million years.
Already the phenomenon is causing problems in the field of aviation. Tampa International airport in Florida spent a month last year renaming its three runways, which in common with those at most US airports are identified using numbers that correspond to the direction, in degrees, that they face on a compass. “Everything had to be changed; it was a huge project,” Brenda Geoghagan, a spokeswoman for the airport, said.

That's what I've read, a slower shift won't cause the same problems as a quick shift would.
You are correct Cheryl... Most if not all have made the necessary changes. And yes Jim you are correct, the distance is increasing but that is my whole point that unless it happens in a very compressed time frame we will not even notice.....1000 miles in a day would be noticeable only if there is crustal disturbances..... otherwise we are discussing an energy field that fluctuates alot even under optimal conditions and is not visible to the naked eye..... scale makes it really hard to be accurate but I was under the impression that the pole drifted roughly 50-75 miles yearly which is miniscule in comparison to the actual size of the earth....Either way its been happening for quite some time and could easily take another few hundred years before it reverses, we simply have no clue.
Remember last year or so, an airport in Florida had to move it's markers because it had shifted so much. I assume all airports had to do that?
Notice that the government site only gives the location of the poles at 2010 and no further? Remember it is moving further and faster each year!
The poles wander and have been wandering for quite some time. If the 1000 mile shift had occurred over the course of a year I would have been concerned.... The reality of the matter is that we all know that the earth will eventually go through a magnetic pole reversal. This does not mean we will go through a crustal shifting of the tectonic plates, but the possibility does exist. As our magnetic field continues to weaken the possibility of a magnetic pole reversal increases exponentially but once again this too is not guaranteed.

for me, enjoy listening whatever the truth, so long as we have an open mind, thats all that counts. like reading Tolkien, for me. Truth comes in many flavors, enjoy each day like old wine, and events will sort themselves out. thats my take on all this.

I find listening to them very rewarding if only for the larger horizons they create. even fiction can have a positive effect on the mind. it us all a matter of how we deal with it, this is what counts. and if Tolec and his ilk are wrong, simply walk away, and do a spot of gardening or go for a walk!!! the world goes on.
