U.S. Gives Saudi Arabia ‘Unrestricted’ Access To American Skies

Jun 5, 2013 11 Comments Jake Hammer

(CNSNews.com) – The United States and Saudi Arabia have signed an Open Skies agreement that will “permit unrestricted air service by the airlines of both countries between and beyond the other’s territory.”

The agreement means Saudi airlines may fly from any point in the kingdom to any point in the United States, and that U.S. airlines may fly from any point here to any airport in Saudi Arabia.

The deal was signed May 28 in Jeddah by U.S. Ambassador to Saudi Arabia James B. Smith and Dr. Faisal bin Hamad Al-Sugair, Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Director of the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

In addition to permitting each nations’ airlines to provide unrestricted air service to any point in the other country, the agreement also eliminates restrictions on how often the carriers can fly, the kind of aircraft they can use and the prices they charge.

“Saudi Arabia is a valued and close partner of the United States,” Kerry Humphrey of the State Department’s Bureau of Economic & Business Affairs told CNSNews.com. “This agreement not only reflects the excellent state of our bilateral relations, but also promises to facilitate further development of those relations with regard to tourism and trade.”

Fifteen of the 19 men who hijacked and crashed American planes on Sept. 11, 2001 were from Saudi Arabia.

But in announcing the Open Skies Agreement, the State Department said the deal will benefit businesses and travelers “while preserving our commitments to aviation safety and security.”

According to the State Department’s most recent report on global terrorism, “During 2012, the Government of Saudi Arabia continued its long-term counterterrorism strategy to track and halt the activities of terrorists and terrorist financiers, dismantle the physical presence of al-Qa’ida, and impede the ability of militants to operate from or within the Kingdom.”

The report said Saudi authorities in August 2012 “announced they had discovered and partially rounded up two separate terrorist cells (one in Riyadh and the other in Jeddah) affiliated with al-Qa’ida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).”

And throughout 2012, the report noted, the Yemen-based AQAP “noticeably stepped up its efforts to inspire sympathizers throughout Saudi Arabia in an effort to compensate for difficulties in carrying out cross-border attacks.”

The report also noted that Saudi Arabia maintains a “robust counterterrorism relationship” with the United States.

The State Department says full implementation of the Open Skies agreement with Saudi Arabia will take place over three years and will be monitored to ensure that each country has completed the required domestic legal measures. Keep reading…

  • No, cursing the sheeple doesn't solve the problem.  Byron's right, like cult members, they've had their programming put into place and their bodies tampered with.

Just remember, the core of the American Revolution was only 200 men.

  • I have almost totally given up on trying to wake them up. They have been programed by TV, fluoridated been poisoned with toxic food and chemtrailled air. I kind of feel sorry for them that they didn't wake up in time to change their habits like most of us here did. I also think there are a lot of people out there that are afraid to speak out for fear of repercussions to their family. When you look at the gun sales in the past couple years there is something going on we can't see on the surface. Two of my kids know what is happening but won't speak out and I have a son with two degrees that is lost in sheepleville.

  • Just look at what is happening in Turkey right now, they were protesting their park being turned into a shopping mall and then realized that their government was not listening to them and turned it into rage and want to change their government. 78 cities rioting for the 11th day today. Until our media is removed from cabal control America will just sit and wonder why they just got a DNA test for getting a traffic ticket or their data was removed from their laptop and cell phone at a HLS check point.

  • I guess this is a clue that Saudis are all over this country.  Are all Saudis terrorists or bad? I would expect not; however, this sure is a freakin' mixed signal our government is giving in their war on terrorism.  Coupled with sending money to the Muslim Brotherhood, giving them high offices in D.C., and other fun things while making 90-year-old American grannies fly without their Depends and everyone getting sexually molested or radiated going through the checkpoints.  When will the outrage from America become effective?

Remember when the students overran the American Embassy in Teheran in 1979?  They were mad, and they took action and ousted what they perceived was wrong from their country.

  • YES some people suspected they flew the missing gold that was suppose to be under the trade center. I can't forget the Saudi passport that was found on the ground next to the trade center when everything else was turned to dust.

  • After the Boston bombing movie show Michelle visited a Saudi National in the hospital who was a person of interest then he quickly was allowed to exit the country, I guess he will be able to choose his airport now.

  • Just freaking lovely.  Not.

  • Yep.  And the Saudi king was reported (a few days ago) to be brain dead again.  Regime change a'comin'.

  • Yeah, I'm kinda gagging too.

    Let's all sing...If you're crazy and you know it, clap your hands {clap, clap}

  • That is the first article I have choked on in a long time.
