I know that farmers have utilized the farmer's almanac for planting their gardens.  This information was derived by the season, the moon cycle, and the sun cycles.  Which I may have be redundant. Anyway,  it would stand to reason that this would be different now and is anyone calculating the differences? and how we need to adjust our planting?

I am no farmer or gardener so help me out here.

  • Thanks, Raina.
  • Thanks Cheryl.  I guess I will try to do the same.  I wish someone would study this and give us some input.  I will check into it and share what I find.
  • Raina, you are raising an important issue.  I don't know the answer.  However, I think that winter in this area has moved up about a month with the coldest temps December through February (it used to be Jan-Mar).  That's why I'm starting my plants indoors and keeping them sheltered.  Between the moon's orbit being out of whack, the sun being volatile, the seasons off, and the weather unpredictable, I don't know what else to do.
