I didn't used to be afraid of tornadoes until we had very big oaks fall out back.  Now I watch the trees when the wind is blowing hard and pray,pray,pray that they don't come down.

That's good.  Any room that doesn't have an exterior wall is supposed to be safer, if you don't have a basement.

If we were to experience a tornado here in south central pa, I do have my basement to get into and hid in the bathroom down there.
