Good job catching that, Susan. It was floating around a year ago, about the expiration. And McCanney volunteered to be our president. ;-) Methinks he should stick to astrophysics.
Since anything can be written on the internet, to properly verify this, one would have to go to the library of congress and pull the actual executed code book. No telling how this code has been twisted on the net.

That linked ATS article states that the fed charter was changed to perpetual status and that only congress can dissolve the fed.
The next thing to check is the actual US code Federal Reserve Act of 1913
the original act signed into law by president Woodrow Wilson was for a 20 year term.
The clause was amended on February 25, 1927 to extend the act, "To have succession after the approval of this Act until dissolved by Act of Congress or until forfeiture of franchise for violation of law."[18] (12 U.S.C. ch. 3. As amended by act of Feb. 25, 1927 (44 Stat. 1234)). (perpetual status)
