  • Don't know Cheryl.  I wonder if that show Mythbusters would have answers to that.

  • What if block is built with rebar and concrete reinforced?

  • As to block buildings withstanding earthquakes, not as good as a stick built wood building as proved on Mythbusters.  They built two buildings in a lab on an earthquake simulator.  The block building did not fare very well as parts of it collapsed, however the stick build wood home built to todays code withstood a 9.5 easily.   I think one would do better if they had a (tornado) storm shelter built into the ground or a room built into their home that is made like a bank safe.

  • Not to mention crop failer from drought, floods,  wind, cold, etc..  Listen up people, it is time to build block buildings with moveable roofs.  And greenhouses. 

  • That is much better than I thought it would be. I just read in China they are pollinating some of their crops with feather dusters because of the lack of honey bees.
