It is said in prophecy that God is in control of the planets, moons and other objects in space. It is also said in prophecy that He will be fooling the scientists. I also agree that this asteroid could have been manipulated by ET's and or Divine intervention.
Maybe intelligent control, this would not be the first time something changed course or disappeared like Ison.
