  • More on the Wobble kicking weather into Super Stroms

    http://www.thebigwobble.com/2011/02/magnetic-polar-shifts-causing-m...
  • There's a chart down in the Photos section that pops up every now and then.  It shows how last year Tornado Alley had shifted to the east.  It will be interesting to see if it has shifted any more this year.

  • Well, it's snowing here again and the flakes are huge!!!
  • The gulf stream is just about dead as for it getting kick started.....depends on how diluted the water becomes as the poles melt.....if the saline level drops too much a kick start is out of the questions.
  • I say keep an eye on the gulf of Mexico......and east of the Mississippi.  Air flow patterns seem to have shifted over a few states as in Pennsylvania getting hit with Michigan type weather..... if the world is tilting a bit more than norm then there is a very good chance that seasonal climates are keeping pace.  Following the jet streams which will eventually be traveling from north to south as opposed to west to east......  Is what I am saying even plausible Brian?

  • Kid - simply beautiful way of expressing that reality.
  • I agree that folks have it much worse up north.  Of course, being a Texan, where everything else exists purely as ancillary to Texas... ;)! ...we are, admittedly, not tooled up for this kind of extended weather.  Give us triple-digit heat, drought, wildfire, tornados, and all manner of crawling, slithering, or flying life that will either sting, bite, burn, poke, or latch on to a body - sometimes in unison - and we seem to get by in a fairly passable manner.  However, we get some weather that, say, the fine folks in Minnesota take as being normal and we end up having some studying to do.  kf
  • This tornado season is going to be down right crazy ..... as for 4 days of cold in Texas.....think of those who live in Canada or North Dakota........

  • I'm not looking forward to tornado season either..
  • 4 days of ice not melting in North Texas.  4 days of temps hoving on boths sides of zero with wind chill.  Treacherous travel conditions.  Wells - personal residence type - experiencing freeze issues with pipes and tanks in South Central Texas (!!).  Snow and ice all the way to the Gulf.  Snow in Chihuahua, Mexico this evening with 15 knot winds.  New Mexico having difficulty with both electricity and natural gas delivery.  I seriously miss 105 degrees.
