  • While I hope your right, Byron, this is like going to the fox to complain about the fox in the henhouse.

  •  I am a patriot and feel there is teeth and do not think that the anointed one is not watching his fall from dictatorship. As much as the world thinks O was elected he really was chosen by his leaders. This has more teeth than than all the channels and will not stop until the evil is gone. And to understand this more cleararly , the vacations are over.

This article echoes what I said... it's a vote of no confidence but no real teeth.

  • How does states rights play into this?  Does that mean secession is not a state's right?

  • Yes they say  that   the  Texas  Constitution says that , however  when  they  were  re admitted  ti the  Union by  Ulysses S Grant in  1870.  There are  those  who say  that the  agreement  nullified the ability  to  secede from the  Union as  can be  seen  here :

Be it ordained by the people of Texas in Convention assembled, That we acknowledge the supremacy of the Constitution of the United States, and the laws passed in pursuance thereof; and that an Ordinance adopted by a former Convention of the people of Texas on the 1st day of February, A.D. 1861, entitled "An Ordinance to Dissolve the Union between the State of Texas and the other States, united under the compact styled 'Constitution of the United States of America,'" be and the same is hereby declared null and void; and the right heretofore claimed by the State of Texas to secede from the Union, is hereby distinctly renounced. Passed 15th March, 1866.

  • The saying goes, it's easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission.
One of my friends lived in Texas for some years and says it is in their law (I presume it was negotiated when it became a state) that it can revert to being its own country again, a right that all other states (presumably) don't have.

  • Here in  Texas  they  hold a special voting session  every   January  2nd to vote  on  secession and it  never  passes.  Frankly   I am surprised.  Texans  have  always  been  known  for their  firm and deep rooted  beliefs .  Right or wrong they have conviction.  You  have to admire that, for sure.

However,  I  know that  this  will never  happen.  The  Administration  would  never allow  Texas or  any  other State  to secede.  We  have to understand that.......

  •  DR I bet this made you proud being a Texan, it certainly gave me hope.

Well, Texas, you have done it.

As of 3:40 p.m. ET, more than 25,000 Texans have already signed the petition on The White House website to let Texas peacefully secede from United States of America and “create its own NEW government.”

The petition, created on Nov. 9, argues for secession, stating:  secession

According to The White House, the petition must reach 25,000 signatures within 30 days in order to be considered.

“If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it’s sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response,” explains the website.
