Cheryl. I did a bit of research in the French web newspaper. It appear that Mr. Sarkozy will be in Québec Canada until the 12th of July. He is staying at the moment at Mr. Desmarais' place. Since his host is a billionaire, we can expect development soon.
CBC news has not said anything about the Sarkozy couple being in Canada. We heard it from TV5 News from France. Yes the gentleman where he is visiting now is indeed wealthy. Recently the government of Canada changed it policies regarding people fleeing justice and seeking asylum in Canada. We have returned a number of these so call refugees. I think that the French couple will be asked polity to leave. Unless they have a plane ticket to another country.
It's coming for Mr. Sarkozy. The French are famous for bribes. A friend has had an inheritance totally stalled because he and his family wouldn't pay the Notaire (French official that settles wills) his bribe, for 4.5 years now. The French lawyers they hired said he'll sit on it for five years, make the interest, then settle the estate, sans interest. They get their money one way or another.

Yes, it is said it is over the L'Oreal thing. I think arrests will try to be hidden underneath other reasons. Police usually don't investigate former Presidents, but the times they are a'changin'.
Yes, he is allegedly vacationing in Canada. His home and offices were raided recently. Probably will be one of the first visible ones to be arrested.
