Hug a Muslim Day

I gingerly proclaim tomorrow September 11th, 2010 - Hug a Muslim Day. Go out and find yourself a Muslim to hug. Let them know that you do not blame them for what happened at the twin towers. Let them know that America is tolerant and loving, welcoming and hospitable. Let them know that we cherish their religious diversity and that we hold their beliefs in as high esteem as we hold our own.

I think its time we started loving everyone else in the world. Its time we started realizing that its not nationalities/cultures that matter most. Its time that we realize that the only way we will advance as a species is to come to terms with the reality that we are all humans, regardless of place of birth, upbringing, culture and belief structure.

Peace and love to all, may the light find you in your darkest moments.

eighty percent of the residents in my apartment complex are muslims from africia. they come from somalia, south africia kenya and ethiopia. when i first had my leg amputated and had only a stump, one somaily lady offered to clean my apartment for me, she's raising three children. another somaily woman offered to cook for me, she's raising to children. no america ever offered to help me. i teach there children how to swim, i help them with there school work. i have been colored blind since my high school days when my high school was predominatly black. just because some creeps with a group of radicals tried to hurt america, due not take it out on a religious group. why don't we burn bibles for what the kkk does. people in order for the human race to survive we all have to join hands, hearts and minds, to do it. i hug my muslim friends every day, through out the year, they are my neighbors and friends.

(Alex, didn't phrase my response out of disrespect to your caring thought/suggestion. But, I am hoping that some day we will be blind to what we wrap ourselves in, look beyond the external, and see the soul only.)
We should all be blind, literally. Our other senses would help bring us closer to an enlightened state.

Nope, we should NOT hug them because they are Muslim. We should hug them because, like us, they are children of the Almighty Creator. Label them and we are labeled. Hug everyone, even that poor guy on the corner, or that sick gal on the park bench, or your neighbor --- how 'bout your enemy?
