Amazing to me how this is just "ok"... don't worry.  Where are the voices of the Fish & Wildlife spokespersons.... ?  How about Greenpeace?  Anyone else have a voice on this one?  Birds are very sensitive to gas of any kind... even the slightest gas off a woodstove, that we may not even smell and drop a bird dead in a moment.  I've seen it happen to my daughter's pet bird.  I think its GAS... of some sort.
