Dearest Pan, I feel your frustrations. Oppression is growing worldwide. My heart goes out to suffering people everywhere.
My take on Ruppert is similar to Keith's... oppression is on its way to the USA. Community is very important but the most successful community (to be able to withstand what's coming) will be a community where each individual is prepared.
I personally am afraid of guns. I was shot in the arm with a bb rifle as a child, but I see the need because when law enforcement goes down there will be no 911 to call. We will be on our own. I hope and pray if I ever have to use a gun that the visual effect will be enough to deter and that I would never have to fire the thing.
Another very valid reason to have a gun is that many pets are going to be displaced in the coming upheaval. Imagine a rabid animal running at you. You will need a gun to defend yourself, you can't take it on with your bare hands, even with a stick if you are lucky enough to find one nearby.
The world is increasingly becoming a very scary place, and you are right--it is time to form community before the SHTF because once it does, you don't know who you can trust.
I have heard rumors that Egyptian gov is doing this on purpose to distract from what is going on in Tunisia (don't know if there is any truth to that lol)
