I was visiting family and friends in Nova Scotia when I was about 17 and saw the aurora for the first time, it was breathtaking to see for the first time. I didn't even know what it was - silly little city kid I was. Actually, I realized what the word AWESOME really meant.

I lived in NW Ontario many years ago. Nearest neighbor was 6 miles away. No light pollution. The aurora was incredible! It traveled well into the southern sky sometimes. I will never forget it. Awesome!
