An email friend of ours just sent us 2 of these rad stickers. They are about the size of a postage stamp and are extremely valuable to detect high doses of radiation. Can last for years. Only for US people... well that is a bummer. The radiation we are getting now cannot be at the same level every where. Because of the air current, radiation will be more concentrated in some area then other.
This is debatable: " First-Responders then to quickly triage those actually exposed in need of medical attention". In my experience of triage, first of all walk-in/wounded will be given priority. They would be quickly scan for radiation and sent to wait for a quick check up. If your radiation level is above safe level, YOU WILL NOT GET PRIORITY IN AN EMERGENCY TRIAGE. You will be made comfortable, but you will be left to die. Why spend time and human resources on you if you are too far gone. This is sure to happen during the time of crisis.

I am not sure what is going on with the radiation network, the station not far from here either went down or was being worked on last night as I had a ZERO reading here, no cpm and now while ddenver is showing 70 we only have a 19, either someone is fooling with things so some wont panic,or the detector is not working right,either way it has sncce last night been showing about half or less of the readings taken lately daily up to yesterday night. If it is the station run by the state of oregon I would not doubt it.
It is now growing season in some states, I noticed local markets selling fresh strawberries were not selling as briskly as they usually do, folks are also asking where it came from and same with the fish in the butcher shop parts,much of it sits in the case and is not sold due to fears, this alone is going to hurt things and DM, I note also re smalll animals, we do not have the wildlife we have here in spring, we had a number of ducks come here to our yard as it is a safe haven for them but they suddeny dissappeared a few days after the quake and have not come backk except for the small birds and squirrels, which odd now I think of it not seen but one and area usually has many of them about.
I would keep watch on vet clinics,I have noticed as peoiple walk thier dogs down the street some will relieve themselvves and also consume grass, which is what a dog does when sick at thier stomach. I believe they will be affected first as well as the small birds,etc.
