It's interesting that he's so focused on the "rapture" because he rejects pretty much all of the rest of the dispensational theology.  I learned that this is not the first time that he has done this.  Most evangelical churches think he's a kook.

There are always smart people who take advantage of a situation to make money. Might has well start a "Lets Make a Rapture Show" The aim of the game would be to predict the date and time of your ascension. If the contestant succeed,  he or she win 1 million dollar. The glitch is who will collect the money.

I think that all of us influence, to a certain extent, what is to come. I think ascension is a very private thing that will occur when we are ready.

Some reports are saying many have left.  If a person is new, the person might buy into the excuses for a while, but after a while many will drift away.  But, you're right that some people just won't give up.  Especially when you've invested half your life in the cause.  If you did that, you would have to admit (a) you were wrong and (b) you've wasted a lot of your life where you could have been doing something more productive.
