I'm preparing a paper and need some information. If you are willing, and have ever been a member of a church and then left it, write a few lines telling me what your reasons were for leaving.
Thanks so much!

Dianna, I agree, from the Protestant viewpoint, the church is not Jesus' church. Further, I think Paul took Jesus's mission "the Way" and turned it into a cult about Jesus, called Christianity.
Many people are leaving the church, whether protestant or catholic, so there is disillusionment going on. People are waking up to the corruption and the control.
Yes, there are blessings to be realized in the sacraments.
And religion has definitely controlled people.
It does need to go. Male without female is unbalanced.
It seems the patriarchal template still exists today, religion or no religion. This is an old template that needs to go.
Being raised Catholic, everything was control by the priests and nuns. Also the role of women was subservient to men which made my mother mad. One Sunday, she decided not to go to mass anymore. Then we met the Mormons. everything was going fine until my dad said to my mom that he was the cheif of the family. Well, they had a fight. My mom had embrace the feminist movement and did not tolerate being a second class citizen.
One province in Canada (Quebec) has been so controled by the Catholic religion that they did not evolved at the same paste then the other provinces. Because of religion, there was a very strong division between French speaking who were Catholic and English speaking who where Protestant, Anglican and others. This, in itself, has created hatred between the two cultures. The French were subserviant to the English in part because of a war that occured in Europe. The Conquest, which occured in 1763 has allowed the Catholic religion to control French speaking people. The Catholic Bishops who where in power suggested to the English that they would control and tammed the French.
Religion are there to divid and concur. I am so happy to know that part of the Event will see the dissapearance of all religions.
I just don't feel it is necessary to need to go to Mass every single Sunday as I am in touch with the Lord. Don't get me wrong, I do like to go occasionally to reflect on God and Christ and to receive the Sacraments which brings many incredible blessings to the soul (which many people do not realize). And of course sometimes life interferes with Mass such as unexpected company for example....
Religion
re + ligare
re means again (and again) or with the meaning back or backward + ligare which means to tie, or bind
to bind = Old English bindan "to tie up with bonds" (literally and figuratively), also "to make captive.
Mmm. That old timey religion.
Kim, you don't go to mass much anymore. Can you identify any reasons why not?
