I also have a habit of posting first, then reading older posts. So much is posted here, it sometimes takes more time than I have available to go through all the posts every time I need to see if something was already posted, and because I go through so much material every day I don't always remember everything I read with specificity either.
Mr. Rob also posted a volcano alert. I'll use this as an an example, I'll remember reading something about a recent volcano post, go back through the older posts and find his post about a volcano, which was in Russia. So then I think that's what I was remembering and conclude that no one posted about the Indonesia volcano and post mine. I could have very well read your post but just confused it.
So, if and when I have time to go back and I do find a redundant post, I'll delete mine. The exception is if the picture didn't get posted with the earlier post, then I may choose to let my redundant post stand. (I just went back looking for your post and didn't find it quickly, so did you post the picture I posted?)
Which opens the door to another thing...redundant posts are useful because more people will see them, especially those that aren't here every day, since the amount of posts here are voluminous and quickly get buried (which was a point of consideration in forming groups...to be able to narrow posts by topic, without all the other posts burying items so quickly, to facilitate ease in locating discussions of interest.
And, yes, sometimes I don't have time to read every single item posted here. I try to, though.
So, the easiest thing (for me) is for someone to alert me if something is already posted, and if I leave it, now you know why.
Another thing to never assume is how fast I answer emails. I try to check frequently, but I also have a life and go out at times, sometimes my computer runs slow and emails can be exceptionally slow to open or Mr. Ning hangs up when trying to send responses (tho I am looking for a new computer).
So, I'm sure I responded with more than you ever wanted to know, but that's just me. I'm a writer.
(BTW, I left a comment on your Bombay CA Alert! Alert! post.)
