one of the big problems many of us may face very soon, if the prognostications the doomsayers are correct, is damage to local ecology including water supply by fallout from damaged nuclear power stations. I too live about twenty mile away from the Wylfa nuclear power station on Anglesey and if all hell and beyond breaks loose and there is leakage from the plant we may have problems with not only mains water but water in rivers and streams let alone ground water.

whilst this may seem an intractable problem it s not entirely the case as there are remedial measures one can take and I may explore these in greater depth later on. one method which was discovered in the nineteen fifties of purifying water is simply let it drain through a large volume of plain old garden soil. I would go for the darkest richest soil with at least a moderate amount  clay in it. simply fill a large container, I would go for a 100 liter water butt, fill it with soil, then any water say gathered fro a stream that we fear may have radiological contamination in it, simply allow the water tk drain through the soil, and collect it at the bottom. I believe there s a ninety percent filtration rate using this method.

then I would use either sand filter, using sand charcoal and maybe some gravel in layers, or simply filter it using a berkey water filter.  other area to explore are filtration using bentonite clay, and using charcoal absorption. it is a fruitful area for research, and can take a great deal of the fear out of life if we face a radio contamination problem in the future. another thought is ti collect water from the rain, from the roof of a house, I say this because, water in the ground may already have nucleotide in it, but th fresh rain may be relatively free. of course keep all water butts sealed from the elements. at all times.

I also want to say, in my own posts I may sound a  bit irascible at times, and I think  may have upset Alex Cortez, inadvertently, in my last post. If that is the case, I am deeply apologetic. we are all imperfect and have our own traits, and warts  and all. I am not immune from imperfections believe me, but I try  to put things right   afterwards.

This is INSANE!

I really don't believe that it is a cure. I think they are infecting any creature who eats these pellets with the real rabies.

Is this the way they start the zombie invasion? Infect the animals, it will go up the food chain and will be spead to humans.

Can you imagine a mass outbreak of rabies????

INCREASING SOLAR ACTIVITY CLEANS UP SAT-DEBRIS: Earth's atmosphere has been puffing up in response to increasing levels of UV radiation from sunspots. This is good news for satellite operators, because a puffed up atmosphere helps clean up low-Earth orbit. "The number of cataloged debris in Earth orbit actually decreased during 2011," reports Nick Johnson in NASA's Orbital Debris Quarterly newsletter. "[The figure below] illustrates how the rate of debris reentries from the Fengyun-1C anti-satellite test of January 2007 increased during the past year."

"Even though only 6% of the total 3218 cataloged debris from the ill-advised engagement had reentered by the end of 2011, half of these debris fell out of orbit in the past 12 months," he points out. "Likewise, many debris from the 2009 accidental collision of Cosmos 2251 and Iridium 33 are accelerating their departure from Earth orbit. In the absence of a new major satellite breakup, the overall orbital debris population should continue to decrease during 2012 and 2013."
