Nine more banks have received subpoenas in connection with a probe into alleged widespread interest-rate manipulation by banks, a person familiar with the investigation said.
The probe, a joint effort by the offices of New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Connecticut Attorney General George Jepsen, could lead to civil enforcement action related to breaches of antitrust and fraud laws.
The subpoenas, which were issued in August and September but haven't been previously reported, bring the total number of subpoenas in the case to 16. The banks involved in the probe include most members of the panel that helps set the dollar London interbank offered rate.
The investigation by the state prosecutors is part of a global probe, in which more than a dozen federal and other regulators across three continents are looking into allegations that several banks rigged Libor.
The nine banks that received subpoenas in August and September were: Bank of America Corp., Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Credit Suisse Group AG, Lloyds Banking Group PLC, Rabobank Groep NV, Royal Bank of Canada, Société Générale, Norinchukin Bank and West LB AG, according to the person familiar with the investigation.

I do believe not all Americans are asleep. Many are law-abiding citizens who don't want to see civil war. However, as the Constitution is eroded more and more, it is getting closer and closer. I actually fear for the incumbents' lives should they be re-elected, that's how motivated people who can see what is really going on are becoming. If you think I'm imagining it, then look to history. Umm in case you haven"t noticed they have gotten away with all of their crimes and continue screwing over the people now. So what difference will the crook Romney be from the Crook Obama? News Flash....they are already out of control and anyone who has the authority to do anything about it resides comfortably in the crooks pockets Take a look around and tell me how much control has been exerted. The courts have even made it clear that the money that enters a bank if lost for any reason is no longer property of the depositor. It belongs to the bank and therefore they are not liable for losing your money on a gamble. So please tell me again how Obama will be so much better in protecting us, please explain!

For those of you who support Romney, you can expect the banks to get away with this if he is elected.
People that do not have bank accounts and rec there checks go to Walmart to cash them are now being turned away, making them open accounts just to cash it. Most of the ones about my area need all of the money but now have to pay fees because it is so little that the banks charge fees for the accounts even more debt on the little guys back! Karma is whats coming for these Greedy Banks!
Let's hope nothing happens to the detriment of the account holders. I don't think you have anything to worry about. If anything happens to put the account holders at risk they will be looking at a run on banks. They don't want that yet.
My bank is in the list. I hope they wont take my money away.
