  • @ Coedwig, it's no surprise your child is enamored with nuclear energy. It has been touted as the only commercially viable means to create "green" energy. This notion of nuclear being clean couldn't be further from the truth of course. With no way to dispose of the waste the radiation will be a cancer (pun intended) on all our children for generations to come. What upsets me the most is that because of the way the media has spun nuclear energy as being eco friendly many people think it is a good thing for mother earth. If you care about the planet than of course you must be pro nuclear ... What about global warming? They kill us with our own love.
  • @ Jonas, I echo your fears...my worst nightmare!  My 15 year thinks that nuclear energy is the best thing since sliced bread.  I try to inform him and I explain about hiding under desks when I was in elementary school.  My generation has a far far different view of this "Nightmare on Elm Street" living in our back yards that the youth of today!

  • msred, Yes, I liked that and the part about texting teens having to interact with real people...didn't like the rest of it much, though.
  • ... a little comic relief provided by the article: "...leaving GPS inoperable and causing millions of clueless drivers to become forever lost in their own neighborhoods ..."
  • And my husband thinks he's flying to San Diego October 28th for a business meeting....

  • This could happen anytime now, Just did in San Diego.
  • This is my worst nightmare. I hope the pledians hurry up with the shutdown of our reactors...
