RELATED: Veterans Incur The Fuehrer’s Wrath: WWII Memorial Barricade Now Wired Shut Excerpted from TODD STARNES: A group of Texas congressmen armed with wire cutters made their way to the World War II Memorial in Washington after they learned the National Park Service had reinforced the barriers blocking the site with wire.

“This is Chicago thuggery,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told me. “The president is trying to inflict the most amount of pain and suffering. This is not some bureaucratic mistake. This is Chicago thuggery. You try to make people hurt so they don’t resist what you tell them to do in the future.”

The World War II memorial on the National Mall has become a symbol of the shutdown of the federal government. Earlier this week the National Park Service closed the memorial and erected barriers. Republican lawmakers moved those barricades so that elderly war veterans could access the site.

The National Park Service made something of a compromise. The memorial has been reopened to veterans but not to average Americans. Nevertheless, sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning, the barriers were replaced and reinforced with wire.

“It’s an open-air sidewalk for goodness sake,” Gohmert said. “It’s ridiculous.”

And when a group of Texas war veterans arrived Friday to see their memorial, several members of the Texas congressional delegation grabbed some wire cutters and made their way to the National Mall.

“I was ready to go to jail,” said Rep. Ralph Hall (R-TX). “If they got the handcuffs out, I’d have gone right with them.”

Hall is 90 years old and flew for the Navy during World War II.

“These veterans made great sacrifice for their country a long time ago and they traveled a lot of miles to get here,” the veteran lawmaker told me. “It’s our memorial.”

He has served the Lone Star State in Congress for 30 years – and takes pride in his 99 percent voting record. But how did Hall happen to have a pair of wire cutters?

“We have a little bit of everything in this office here,” he said.

It turned out the lawmakers didn’t need their wire cutters, after all. The wires had been cut by the time they had arrived.

“They are truly trying to inflict a maximum amount of pain because they believe the Republicans will pay a price,” Gohmert told me.

And he also had a special message for President Obama:

“The hissy fit is going to have to end,” he said.

Via William Jacobson, NBC’s affiliate in Washington, D.C. reports that police ordered tourists and Vietnam war veterans who were visiting the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall to leave the memorial at one point on Friday.

After one group of veterans went around the barricade, “the park ranger told them the wall was closed,” NBC’s Mark Seagraves reported. “Later another group of vets showed up and moved the barricades. At that point, the memorial filled with vets and tourists. That’s when police came and moved everyone out.”

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is a black granite outdoor wall on which the names of the 58,272 service members who died or were unaccounted for during the Vietnam war are inscribed.

It takes more manpower and costs the government more money to close down an outdoor wall than to let people walk past it and pay their respects.

The Obama administration has been very selective in devoting resources to shutting down memorials.

Excerpted from BIG GOVERNMENT: Just before the weekend, the National Park Service informed charter boat captains in Florida that the Florida Bay was “closed” due to the shutdown. Until government funding is restored, the fishing boats are prohibited from taking anglers into 1,100 square-miles of open ocean. Fishing is also prohibited at Biscayne National Park during the shutdown.

The Park Service will also have rangers on duty to police the ban… of access to an ocean. The government will probably use more personnel and spend more resources to attempt to close the ocean, than it would in its normal course of business.

This is governing by temper-tantrum. It is on par with the government’s ham-fisted attempts to close the DC WWII Memorial, an open-air public monument that is normally accessible 24 hours a day. By accessible I mean, you walk up to it. When you have finished reflecting, you then walk away from it.

At least that Memorial is an actual structure, with some kind of perimeter that can be fenced off. Florida Bay is the ocean. How, pray tell, do you “close” 1,100 square miles of ocean? Why would one even need to do so?

Apparently, according to an anonymous Park Service ranger, “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”

Centuries ago, King Canute famously failed to command the ocean tide to stop. His display was actually a means to educate his subjects on the limits of royal power. Today, however, our President actually believes he has the power to control the oceans.

Excerpted from WEEKLY STANDARD: Another open-air memorial in the Washington area is closed and barricaded off: the Iwo Jima Memorial, just across the bridge from D.C. in Rosslyn, Virginia. A source sends along this picture of the barricade set-up at the memorial, which is also called the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial:

“I took the picture yesterday afternoon. Those barricades had been there at least a day. People can still walk into the Memorial area, but for many elderly and disabled vets, it is important they be driven and park right next to the statue,” the person who took this picture emails.

“There has been no coverage of Iwo Jima being closed and it is a routine stop for Honor Flight visitors.”

The source adds: “This picture is from North Marshall Drive (100 yards up the hill from the 110) facing the only road in and out of the Memorial for cars. There are parking spots for cars and buses right next the Memorial that can only be accessed via this road. Interestingly too, the view you see is also the last 200 yards of the Marine Corps Marathon which is in three weeks. That would be 20,000 pissed off runners who have trained for months.”

The stop is a popular destination for veterans and tourists alike, and, in my observation, is usually completely unmanned and unguarded. But, for some reason, it’s closed to the public during this federal government shutdown.

I’m told, “The Syracuse Honor Flight just knocked down the barrier and a couple hundred of them are at the Memorial now.”

Right now, though, President Obama refuses to engage in any debate or discussion. The president is demanding that he get 100 percent of what he wants, and if he doesn’t, he and his Democratic allies in the Senate will keep the government shuttered.

We, as elected representatives in the House and Senate, are hearing from our constituents that they do not want Obamacare as it currently stands. A recent NBC-Wall Street Journal poll shows that only 12 percent of Americans think Obamacare will have a positive impact on their lives.

We are looking for compromise with Mr. Obama. We are looking for give-and-take solutions.

The president is intransigent. He will not give an inch, yet he expects the entire country to take the whole Obamacare mile. It is his way or the highway.

It was not a good idea to shut down the government. It’s also not a good idea to give Mr. Obama 100 percent of what he wants on Obamacare. Why is the president so opposed to trying to make this law less bad? Why is he continually refusing to compromise?

I am not going to censor the news.  Part of the reasons behind it is:

(1) if you censor one thing, it opens the door to start censoring other things.  For example, as opposed to war news as any of you might be, I am just as opposed to Zetatalk, and could easily justify censoring it.  But I tolerate it as long as it's not preached as the only solution and copyright laws are not violated;

(2) for over three years I have cultivated an environment of freedom of speech which tolerated pro-Obama sentiments, while abridging my own freedom of speech, in the spirit of learning and giving time to discern the truth;

(3) for over three years, I was willing to listen to the arguments, read and listen to both sides of the story, and consider whether he is a old soul/star seed, or not.  I have formed my conclusions and it is time for those who believe in the Obama deception to learn and discern the flip side of the coin, the war on Syria being just one of many, many issues.

(4) while I do believe dwelling on negative things has adverse consequences (remember my blog about Zetatalk becoming what it was resisting?), I also believe we can't bury our heads in the sand.  I try to balance the negative with positive as much as I can.  I don't think we are at the spiritual state or have the spiritual strength at this time to totally handle the negative by spiritual means.  Thus, it needs to be a multi-frontal approach.  It appears that shining the national spotlight on the plans for crimes or exposing the crimes of this Administration prevents them from being carried out (e.g., nuclear false flags, etc.) or discredits the Administration in the aftermath (Benghazi, IRS, Fast & Furious, etc.).  How does a "national spotlight" shine except by crimes plotted and committed and hidden in the shadows of lies and web of deceit being brought to the national attention by every news outlet not in the employ of the ptb?  Saying it loud and saying it many times is what finally gets into people's heads what's going on.  Saying it once and saying it quietly does not have the same effect.

(5) on the issue of focusing what you want to attract, wouldn't continual focusing on earthchanges bring about earthchanges?  As far as ZT goes, with the discrepancies and outright lies we've found, even if there is some truth there, doesn't focusing on it give it power over those reading it and help manifest it?  If not, then someone please explain the difference to me, because I don't see it.

We are living in dark days and sending love and light is much appreciated, but also realize that the spiritual battles have boots on the ground and those boots get muddy.  Everyone do your part as your conscience dictactes and I'll do mine.

I trust the readers here are mature enough to decide for themselves what to read or not.

KENT, Wash. -- The latest batch of  beer is just about ready to take flight at Kent’s Airways Brewing. The  politics in the nation’s capitol, however, could keep it grounded.
“This beer is gonna be parked for a while,” said Head Brewer Alex Dittmar, as he sampled the brew on Friday.
The beer will remain in the huge fermentation tank for the time being  because Dittmar can't get the labels for his latest brew approved. The  government agency that oversees the labeling of America’s alcohol is  currently shut down, along with all other “non-essential” services  during the government shutdown.
Without those mandatory labels, Dittmar can't bottle and sell his beer.  So, for now it sits, potentially stopping production entirely if the  shut down drags on.
“It’s simple,” he said. “If the product isn't out there and people aren't buying it, we don't make money.”
And it isn’t just beer. Any wines, beers or spirits in need of new or  updated labels are being delayed while lawmakers languish. It usually  takes about a month for labels to be approved by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau. Producers who applied for labels for a new  vintage of wine or a seasonal beer well before the current shutdown are  now fearing the consequences.
“It’s bad for business and it’s bad for America,” said Brian Countryman, owner of Woodinville’s Celaeno Winery.
Hundreds of cases of the company’s wine are waiting to be shipped to  market, but they can’t go anywhere without the government approved  label. Countryman says the government is putting small business over a  barrel.
“Stop holding us hostage,” he said.
The shutdown is also delaying requests from small businesspeople hoping to open a new brewery, winery or distillery.
On Thursday night at the brewery, Alex Dittmar tried to simply check the status of his label, but the government website that tracks such  applications was shut down as well.

In short, Congress can keep its current health coverage by repealing Section 1312(d)(3)(D). However, the political price for doing so is that Members of Congress must repeal the rest of Obamacare as well—so that their constituents can keep their health plans, too.
