I lost my granddaughter to the California "system."  I've seen the corruption here in Virginia.  I went toe-to-toe with a CPS worker here locally.  I was read-up on what the game is.  I advised my son what was coming and how to handle it.  It played out textbook.  Dirty.  Dirty.  Dirty. He stood his ground and she backed down. 

They bully people into signing their forms, no explanation.  "You'll lose your kids if you don't sign."  Actually, you can lose your kids IF YOU DO sign.  He asked to show the forms to our attorney.  She bullied harder.  Said no attorney needed to review them.  (How's that for the unlawful practice of law by a CPS worker... saying a lawyer doesn't need to review a legally-binding agreement?)  She wouldn't let him keep the form for review.  He refused to sign.  Of course, they are "bad, bad, bad" because they did not "cooperate" with the bullying.

A Texas attorney is fighting CPS tooth and nail.  You can search him on the internet. 

Be aware of this practice.  Tell everyone you know who might have children at risk.  As this article indicates, once they get their hands on the kids, you may never get them back... even if you are right and they are 110% wrong!

These are some thoughts on securing a house during the earthchanges, but there are many variations and I only give some food for thought, you must decide what is right for you .

Now, a house is basically the same whatever its construction methods, it has foundations even if these are posts in the ground, or decking. Concrete is most common though. And this may be on clay, sand or bedrock. All these have different characteristics in an earthquake. Sand is most liable to liquefaction, rock may crack and move and take the foundations with it, clay also will crack more so if it is bone dry, and hard as rock. If the clay is damp or even wet, it may be more forgiving when the temblors begin. But don't depend on it.

What we must consider are the main load bearing points in a house. Thus where the load is maximum on say a dividing wall, or either end of a valley, if this part of the house or foundations moves to any degree, the consequences will be far far greater than if it is some little wall  holding the flat roof of a kitchen.

I would therefore advise looking around your home, go into the loft space, especially, looking at the way the joists are laid, and how the perlings are set. Now if the perlings rest on a central wall, or even  at the end of a valley, and this part of the house moves e.g. the foundations rise or fall, , we must expect these perlings to move also, and the consequence will be extreme for the whole house. So, mark where these load bearing points are, where the perlings rest on the walls. If a wall goes on the gable, or sides, away from main load bearing points,the wall plate holding the joist may well stay in place also, so, assuming this happens it will be easier to shore up this part of the house. These are the considerations you should have.

Now let us assume the roof has partially or even totally blown away. What will happen when it rains ? Any answers please? You will of course get wet. Very very wet, and miserable. This can be dealt with before it happens quite easily --well there is some effort and some expense involved but this is the plan

Now, assuming it is only hurricane force winds affecting you and the earthquakes are not that severe or at least have been coped with. Before this happens then, I would get some three quarter sheathing ply or similar, waterproof, and of construction quality. This should be placed all over the roof space spanning the joists. How you do this I have no idea, but read on. Now, I assume your loft space is covered in fiberglass insulation. Lay the plywood over the top of this. Now one further method is to place a wagon tarpaulin, maybe several over the top of this plywood. Make sure they all overlap and the overlaps are generous. Now finally, get hold of some galvanized or plastic coated corrugated sheets, or similar. Place these over the plywood, making sure again the overlaps are generous. Then finally, we can secure all this using rawl bolts to the walls. How you do this depends on how the house is constructed. How you get all this into the loft space is up to you also. But the method is sound. So, if the roof blows off and you are without power and cut off, from civilization, at least you can be warm and dry. And repair the roof later when things calm down.

I hope to do this later on and welcome any prior feedback. Having previous experience in construction, housebuilding, I may have something useful to say on this later on today or soon after.

I was taking a break from the forum for a few weeks but events are beginning to be more prescient as each day goes by. what may be rolling down the track is more than the locomotive , look at all the wagons behind it!!!

I came back after I had a message from one of the friends on here who I respect greatly as I do all, and ended up making I hope a contribution to the hydroponic discussion. now I must turn my attention to water filtration as best my knowledge allows.

what is it we all need, in an emergency? not food, forget food at least for two maybe three weeks. figuratively speaking of course. Unless we are well supplied with it, have stocks of food certainly, but the one thing we need in fact our bodies beg for is water. After three days we are nearing the end of our incarnation here on earth unless we get re hydrated.

The answer is surprisingly simple so long as we have a few basics of equipment, and means of purifying the water. so, here is my plan, which I intend to carry out soon  I hope -at least experimentally.

first, reconnoiter your local area, find  where the nearest supply of water is, a running stream a river, even a hole in the ground where water collects. It is all usable. Now for the filter. My own design is as follows. The primary filter, uses horticultural gravel, horticultural sand and charcoal. These are preferable as they are washed clean and free of harmful chemicals, but have several spare bags of these as with charcoal

Now the easiest charcoal to find is barbecue charcoal, whilst  it may not be the best it should work. Now, find a large plastic food grade container about 5 gallon is adequate . I would cut a hole in the bottom as this will be the top. not too large a hole as this weakens the container.

Now, place a small piece of metal gauze- zinc or aluminum or copper but not iron as this will rust- in the bottom which is now where the spout is. This will keep the materials confined. Next place about two inches of gravel in one layer and alternate this with the sand and charcoal making several of these layers until you reach the top. now this should be the primary filter, for say pond or river water.

The next state of filtration I would use a big berkey, I have my own as yet unused, and this will bring the water to a greater level of purity. Used all day it should supply a families needs. have ceramic elements with silver in them for added purity. silver is a very very powerful antibacterial agent.

Now you should have either iodine but preferably bleach, pure bleach, not the gel bleach  which is poisonous. About a  teaspoon in one or  two liters of water should be enough to make it drinkable. Let it stand to allow the chlorine to evaporate. Also you can store it in plastic bottles in the sun  for I believe a minimum six hours and this will also purify it. Adding colloidal silver will also  help but  I would rely on the bleach.

Once you have this system installed and working about seventy percent of your survival needs are sorted out so long as the basic water supply lasts. If a stream dries up you are in trouble, so know the sources well. Have multiple sources even. If you take from a stream make sure you have access not only to the stream, one section of it, but be able to travel the full course if need be. Same with a river.

If you store water store it in a place where the sunlight can at least penetrate the water containers. This will help keep them pure. Lastly secure your water supply first, make sure it is available  each day, then get the filters sorted out

One last point as regards the ceramic filters, have spare ones, just two inside a berkey are minimum, they will take four, but have backup filters, and also it is a good idea to have fluoride and chemical filters, I will say more on this later I hope..

Most of all, know your  neighborhood, know your neighbors but here is a separate topic for later on, on neighborhood security. I have some thoughts on that that are coming to me.

The Chinese, for their part, understand that time is on their side and the wiser leaders there accept the need for a gradual transition of the US military industrial complex into a peaceful organization devoted to planetary defense and exploration of the universe.

All that said, the current US regime is in no position whatsoever to lecture China about human rights when Obama himself has declared the right to kill American citizens without any trial or legal process. The so-called Patriot act in the US is identical to the Nazi fascist constitution and the fact of the matter is US is now ruled by a fascist regime. Democracy is not possible in the US with rigged electronic polling and when over 90% of the media there is owned by five companies all controlled by the fascist oligarchs. Also, Australian Anzus agents have given me evidence that your Prime Minister Julia Gillard was undemocratically placed in power by agents of the privately owned US Federal Reserve Board.

To conclude, a peaceful transition of the military industrial complex is needed to prevent world war and getting Asian finance for the pentagon is essential to that transition.
