Japanese weather agency: La Nina is over

Japan's weather agency says the La Nina phenomenon that caused last year's record hot summer in Japan and severe cold in January apparently ended by April.

La Nina is a weather condition in which surface temperatures fall below average in the eastern Pacific Ocean near the equator off Peru. The condition is known to affect global weather.

The agency said on Wednesday that the phenomenon started last summer for the first time in 3 years but that temperatures had returned to normal by April.

But the agency forecasts another hot summer this year in Japan, citing higher temperatures in recent years, mainly due to global warming.

It says this summer will not be as hot as last year's, but is advising caution against heatstroke.

La Niña near its end

Issued on Wednesday 11 May |

The 2010−11 La Niña event is nearing its end, with most indicators approaching neutral values. Climate models surveyed by the Bureau of Meteorology suggest that the Pacific Ocean will continue to warm over the coming months, with neutral conditions likely to persist through the austral winter.

Steady warming of the equatorial Pacific Ocean since mid-January has resulted in near-normal ocean temperatures. Atmospheric indicators of La Niña are now responding to these changes in the ocean and an active Madden Julian Oscillation, resulting in a weakening of trade winds, changes in cloudiness and an easing of typical La Niña pressure patterns. Likewise, the Southern Oscillation Index (SOI), which recorded its highest April value since 1971, has dropped from above +25 to +11 in the past fortnight.

The influence of the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) on Australian rainfall is currently neutral. A weakly positive IOD event has been forecast to develop during winter. In the past, positive IOD events have been associated with drier conditions over parts of Australia, particularly in the south east, during the winter and spring seasons.

East Coast Earthquakes

Here in VA were really not known for earthquakes but here recently we are getting more and more which seem to be getting higher each time.  But the one today isn't on earthquake 3D nor was it posted any where else even though many witnessed it.  Just hope its not a peek into what is to come.

We have passed 500,000 hits and are fast approaching 450 members.  Despite the young age of this group (almost eleven months), each of you has made this a very special place.  Congratulations to each and every one of you, whether you post a lot or not.  Your prayers and presence here counts!  Each of you has earned the distinction of Earthchanger magna cum laude

I also thank the Guardians who protect this site.  They advised me to go off of lockdown on March 7th.  They didn't tell me what was about to happen, but we now know...on March 11th, Japan had a devastating earthquake, tsunami, and resulting radiation crisis.  We were here and open for business for all those searching for news and advice during the crisis, sharing information on radiation, and having meditation/prayer/intention sessions, all of which made a difference!

In anticipation of escalating earthchanges and more traffic to this site, I have done some reorganizing.  There is a wealth of information here but most people are going to come here in a rush and not know where to begin. Thus, key basic Survival Information has it's own section (which ends with a reference to the Survival Info group) on the left.  The right column begins with the science fueling the earthchanges.  It has been my long-stated belief that the science is what convinces people there is a problem and the next logical step is to prepare to meet the challenges.  The problem is a close passage of a brown dwarf.  The solution is to prepare.  So these two categories get prime visibility.  Severe Weather is a new section, top left, because of its importance in informing people at risk.

We have passed the point of wondering about earthchanges.  They're here and they're getting worse.  We have a large, historical database of the changes over the past 1.5 years, not just individual news articles, but DuaneR's very helpful Year-in-Review and JoeK's diligent work on tracking earthquakes, as well as John and Amy's excellent work in the Science Department, among so many others.  These particular efforts enable people to see the "big picture" quickly.

For my part in helping people get up to speed, I have started making hypotheticals, to help us all start adding flesh to the theory, bringing it to life, making it real.  Did the first hypothetical wake you up?  I hope so. Post your comments as to what you think you would do if you faced that situation at https://earthchanges.ning.com/profiles/blogs/its-started-the-days-of.  (A link is also posted near the bottom of the new Survival Information section on the left.)

One problem we face is information overload.  What shows on the main page is designed to be simple and easily assimilated, quickly; however, there is a lot of it, much of which will be unfamiliar to most people (like, how do you get water when it won't come out of the faucet?).

Also, many people from backgrounds different from the culture of this group will be arriving and there is no point confusing them with talk of UFOs and unfamiliar religions or beliefs.  That's why there are groups.  People can find them, secondary to learning about problem, the science behind it, what they can do to prepare and then survive afterwards, all of which should empower people and alleviate at least some fear.

Though we will continue to follow the earthchanges here, we should shift our focus on preparing for the big event, which looks to be just a few short months away.  I don't want important information becoming lost amongst the daily earthchanges.  If you want to continue to see the news about every earthchange we find, then how about posting one daily earthchange blog for the "normal" changes, and only post individual earthchange blogs (with pictures, if available) for those changes that exceed what will become the constantly evolving new norm.  Give me input if one blog for every "normal" earthchange on a given day would be sufficient.  There usually isn't a lot of discussion on those types of blog, anyway.  And since the comments section will be kind of scrambled, it would be best to make it into a discussion (rather than a blog) because of the ability to copy the comment you are replying to into your comment.  So let me know, okay?

Post your questions or comments about the new layout.  Thanks!

He has an addendum at the end, so wait for it.

So, here is a source for all the extra water.  PX is playing havoc with weather patterns.  Indonesia is not sinking, as some think, it was being flooded.  Just like what's happening with the Mississippi River.  It's the weather patterns, stupid!  ;-)

Oh, Buoy!

Buoys rise and buoys fall.  Some think today it is caused by tectonic plates starting to move.  John DiNardo has a different perspective:

[Speaking of gas pockets in the Gulf of Mexico:]

"These newly formed pockets of rising gases strikingly explain the recent avalanche of reports of seabeds bulging all over the World, as indicated by drastically diminishing footage readings transmitted by ocean buoys, worldwide."

Americans Gone Wild

http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/americans-gone-wild

"Years ago, losing a job was not that big of a deal.  Now a job loss is enough to cause some Americans to snap and go over the edge.  We are seeing restaurant brawls and open violence in the streets that would have been unthinkable 50 years ago.  All over the nation people are losing it and are literally going crazy.  The news stories and the videos posted below of "Americans gone wild" are very graphic and very shocking.  There is a reason for this.  These examples are meant to show you that the very fabric of our civilized society is falling apart.  It won't matter who ends up leading us politically if this is the kind of people we become."

It's not just the economy either.  The influences coming in with the brown dwarf affects mental health.

From my vantage point

In the beginning (biblical - apropos for how I started my journey in watching), a friend and I happened upon a short article that introduced the need to stock up on food, water, etc., because we were to see the need in the near future. Mind you, we are both Christian, so the article had a spin on it, coming from one of the many Christian newsletters we subscribe to. We each started down our histories of research, and brought what we could to the conversation. We found our favored sites - some having far-out and far-off theories - and shared as we could. There is NO WAY one person can bring together in a lifetime all that is flooding the internet. Of course, sites borrow from each other, as often as Glenn Beck borrows from Alex Jones. Saying this to explain how my first steps on this journey of discovery had a Christian foundation, and during it all, I have opened my mind to (and accepted as truth) some creatively strange ideas and possibilities.

AND, thanks to Alesiah*, I can let go of a whole lot of 'fluff.'

I realize some of us peruse, listen and view the same sites. I realize some of us come to the same conclusions. I realize some of us are still trying to piece it all together (being newbies to the knowledge of what is upon us).

I realize some of you have received and read this article, but I'm going to blog it anyway, because it seems to come behind Alesiah's date and Amy's (and Morris) recent image/coordinate contributions.

LINK: HOOOYA!

Oh please, any and ALL comments are welcome - don't want to be going down the wrong conclusion path, even though I realize (one more time using that word) we all have to choose our own.

BTW, everyone, thanks for being here!!!
