An X-class (X7 according to Spaceweather.com) solar flare just occured from sunspot 1263, apparantly around 8:35 UTC.
X-class flares are the most powerful category of solar flares, which can cause all sorts of problems when earth-directed. It is currently unkown whether this is the case.
Last week has been an extremely active period, with 3 M-class CME’s (originating from sunspot 1261) merging into one large CME.
Conspirates.com thinks it’s strange that websites like spaceweather.com or NOAA.gov (so far) have not been writing about this X-class flare, although they did so almost immediately after the M-class flares from sunspot 1261 last week. Nevertheless, the automated graphs on their websites almost went off-scale for the current X-class flare.
UPDATE: according to Solarham.com the flare is not fully earth-directed.

If you are like most people, you are vermin adverse. As electrical interplay increases between Earth and passing objects, it will force vermin out of the ground. As part of mentally preparing for the coming serious changes, this little exercise might help you toughen up. Look at pictures of creepy crawlers and slimy slitherers (actually, they are dry) until you feel the panic subside.
My favorite is the potato bug. They look like they are from outer space. Get a basic education of bugs and snakes so you will know them when you see them. Find out what's poisonous and what's not, what to do if poisonous. Last summer, someone in my family was bit by a brown recluse. She nearly died. One hospital turned her away, saying bah, humbug. I gave her a mixture of essential oils and it helped...drew the venom out, maybe saved her life. I have also heard that solder quickly packed on a venomous bite will draw venom out. One man did this and saved his wife's life.
Update 8/9/2011: Two large yellow jackets got in the car. 7-year-old Danielle absolutely freaked out. She lost her mind. No, she didn't get stung but imagine a child refusing to do as you say, screaming her head off, sure the bees were following her, out to get her, running, refusing to get back in the car (after they were gone). Totally uncontrollable...over two bees. This demonstrates some kind of sedative is going to be needed. If you have children, talk to your health care provider or pharmacist.
Were an earthquake to occur along the 150-mile-long New Madrid Fault system -- which has in the past produced quakes in Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana -- Army North is ready to assist.

Sunspot region 1263 has just fired off an M3.5 flare just as it is rotating around the western limb of the Sun.
Equation: Sunspots => Solar Flares (charged particles) => Magnetic Field Shift => Shifting Ocean and Jet Stream Currents => Extreme Weather and Human Disruption (mitch battros 1998)
Magnetic flux measured by GOES is going up in response but might not reach the event threshold producing another CME (coronal mass ejection). Further flaring from this active region in geo-effective position can be expected.

18 Indonesian Volcanoes On Alert Status
Eighteen Indonesian volcanoes are on "alert" status, two of which are at Alert Level 3, which is called "Siaga", the Volcanology and Geology Disaster Mitigation Center says.
Dr. Surono, head of the PVMBG states Jakarta has at least two erupting volcanoes - Mount Lokon in North Sulawesi and Mount Ibu in North Maluku were the two volcanoes are at code 'Orange' level-3 status.

China Evacuates 600,000 On Typhoon Muifa's Path
A typhoon blew down power lines and billboards in the Chinese financial hub of Shanghai on Sunday and aimed at a northeast port city where beaches were closed and sandbags were piled on the waterfront.
High waters and heavy surf already were battering Qingdao's coastline as Typhoon Muifa hugged China's eastern seaboard, weakening as it approached the industrial port city. Muifa was expected to make landfall as a severe tropical storm Monday morning near Qingdao, home to 7 million people and the Chinese navy's north sea fleet.

Could this be related to the Arab Spring in any way? The article says "not racially motivated" then makes a comment later that sounds like it was.
Watch for more of these acts of violence as celestial objects get closer, as it (electromagnetic influences?) has already started to affect people's mental status.

If there is a huge concentration of hydrogen cyanide in this comet and the earth moves through it's tail, ummmmm, could this be lethal to people and animals???
I've read prophecy on the three days of darkness and it does mention not to go outside at all staying in your home duct taping around windows/doors to keep the good air in as the gases outside would be deadly. This raised a red flag when I ran across this article. Yikes.

GEOMAGNETIC STORM IN PROGRESS: A major geomagnetic storm is in progress following the impact of a CME on August 5th around 1800 UT. Sky watchers at all latitudes should be alert for auroras after nightfall. Tip: the best hours for aurora sightings are usually around local midnight. Aurora alerts: text, voice.
Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab say that the CME impact may have strongly compressed Earth's magnetic field, directly exposing satellites in geosynchronous orbit to solar wind plasma. Stay tuned for updates on this aspect of the storm.
The arriving CME left the sun on August 4th, propelled by an M9.3-category eruption in the magnetic canopy of sunspot 1261. Click on the image to view a movie of the expanding cloud recorded by the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory:

NIGHT-TIME SOLAR RADIO BURST: The M9-class solar flare of August 4th produced a burst of shortwave static so powerful that receivers on Earth picked it up after sunset. "A RadioJove observer in Florida recorded the burst when the sun was 38 degrees below the horizon," reports amateur radio astronomer Thomas Ashcraft. Ashcraft's own radio telescope in New Mexico recorded the event 1 hour and 54 minutes after sunset:
"To my knowledge, receptions like this are very rare," says Ashcraft.
Indeed they are. This event brings to mind the iconic night-time solar radio burst of March 8, 1958. Five radio telescopes at the University of Florida picked up emissions from the sun while observing the planet Jupiter in tthe middle of the night. On the other side of the world, radio astronomers in daylit Australia confirmed that a powerful solar radio burst had taken place at that exact time. The event is described in a 1959 Nature paper by pioneering radio astronomers Alex Smith and Tom Carr. They considered the possibility that solar radio waves might have been reflected by the Moon or carried to the night side of Earth by ionospheric ducting. In tthe end, they could not conclusively explain what happened and to this day night-time solar radio bursts remain a puzzle.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Authorities say a mysterious orange-colored substance has washed up on the shores of a remote village in northwest Alaska.
Tests have been conducted on the substance on the surface of the water in Kivalina (KIV'-uh-LEE'-nuh). City Administrator Janet Mitchell told The Associated Press that the substance has also shown up in some residents' rain buckets.
Coast Guard Petty Officer David Mosely tells KTUU that it's not a petroleum substance and it's not man-made. Mitchell says the village is requesting that an algae expert from the University of Alaska Fairbanks investigate.
Pictures taken by resident Mida Swan show an orange sheen across the harbor and on beaches in the village about 625 miles northwest of Anchorage.
Swan says she didn't smell anything odd when she dipped her hand into the substance.
